Emblem Club’s busy month of activities

These ladies also met with Maine Senators Susan Collins and Angus King during their stay in D.C.

FARMINGTON – Emblem Club 460 recently held its December meeting. Local members who attended the Supreme Convention in Washington, D.C. were presented with pictures from Congressman Bruce Poliquin by Rep. Russell Black. While in Washington, members also met with Maine Senators  Susan Collins and Angus King.

This month, the club’s members collected items for Christmas and winter needs to donate to the Franklin County Children’s Task Force.

The club also sponsored and decorated a tree for the Rotary Club’s annual Festival of Trees. Kathryn Foster, the University of Maine at Farmington president, purchased the Emblem Club’s tree, which in turn benefits area charities. The tree is on display at the president’s residence.

In addition, the club’s members donated 12 baskets to the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Gerry Wiles Holiday Basket program and donated funding for the Wreathes Across America program.
