FARMINGTON – As part of National Wellness Day, the University of Maine at Farmington Wellness Committee and ARAMARK recently sponsored a Wellness Day for all employees of UMF.

Approximately 100 employees participated in the day’s events.

Activities included games, a book give-a-way table, informational material and booths, raffle drawings, and free services – foot massages, manicures, and chair massages – by local service providers.

Vendors participating in the day’s activities included, All About You! Salon and Tanning of West Farmington; Western Mt. Massage of Farmington; Body, Mind and Spirit of Farmington; Center for Health and Healing of Wilton; the Franklin County Animal Shelter and the Koviashuvick Local Living School of Temple.

A free luncheon buffet was served by ARAMARK, the campus dining service.

Music was provided throughout the event by Scott Ladd of Dreamin’ Big, a local DJ/karaoke business.

The primary purpose of the UMF Wellness Committee is to provide advocacy, leadership and support for worksite health improvement through activities including continuing education, exercise classes, resource development, ergonomic and work site visits, stress management and networking for all UMF employees and retirees.
