Gold LEAF’s spring semester open house March 3

FARMINGTON – The Gold LEAF Institute Senior College in Farmington will introduce its spring term of classes at an open house on Wednesday, March 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the University of Maine Farmington Student Center, North Dining Hall, 111 South St., Farmington. Class registrations will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. for those who have not already signed up.

Anyone age 50 or older who is interested in lifelong learning opportunities is welcome to attend. Learn more about Gold LEAF (which stands for Lifelong Education At Farmington), meet the course presenters, socialize with some of the current members, become a member, sign up for classes, and have some light refreshments.

A special introductory offer is available for new members to get a trial membership with Gold LEAF for just $10 during the Spring Term, now through June 2010, plus pay a nominal fee for the classes.

The spring term includes a variety of classes and activities, all of which are designed to make learning fun and stress free, including: conversational Spanish; a book discussion group; a field trip to Colby College Museum of Art; brewing beer and making wine; and many others. There are no educational prerequisites to be a part of Gold LEAF.
