FARMINGTON – The Maine Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC) has relocated its local field office that serves Franklin and Oxford counties to the West Farmington area.

The physical address for the new office is:

133 Fyfe Road
West Farmington, ME 04992

The mailing address for the new office is:

P.O. Box 307
West Farmington, ME 04992

The West Farmington Office is staffed by LURC regional representatives Erle Townsend and Sara Brusila. Both staff members are available to serve land owners and applicants who have questions about permitting.

Townsend, who primarily serves Oxford County, can be contacted via his cell phone at 670-7492 or by email at Erle.Townsend@maine.gov

Brusila, who primarily serves Franklin County, can be contacted via her cell phone at 670-7493 or by email at Sara.Brusila@maine.gov

Regular walk-in office hours are held on Wednesdays from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Other office hours and site visits are by appointment.

LURC was created in 1971 to serve as the planning and zoning board for the state’s unorganized areas, coastal islands, and numerous towns and plantations that have elected not to have local land use control. LURC’s jurisdiction encompasses approximately 10.4 million acres, roughly half the size of the state of Maine.

Previously, the LURC Regional Office serving Franklin and Oxford counties was located in Rangeley. Through a cooperative agreement with the Maine Department of Transportation, office space for the new LURC West Farmington Office, located at the MaineDOT West Farmington facility, now is being shared by both agencies for a cost savings of more than $20,000 per year to the state.
