The Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine has given its highest grade of “A” to Legislative candidate Russell Black AND has endorsed his candidacy to the Maine House. SAM does not award an endorsement to a non-incumbent unless they have a great deal of personal knowledge about the candidate and race.

Black, a third term selectman from Wilton lives with his wife Susan, Register of Deeds for Franklin County. They own and operate BlackAcres Farm, producing beef, maple syrup and forestry products. The farm consists of over 400 acres, which is managed for wildlife. Extensive conservation practices are done yearly, twice receiving Franklin County Conservation Farmer of the year.

Black provides access for the snowmobile trail # 81 across his land. He also supplies one of the few accesses to Pease Pond. He has over 40 hunters and trappers using his land at different times of the year.

“As an avid hunter and outdoors-man,” Black said, “I am very pleased to be the endorsed candidate for SAM.”
