United Way’s Great Charity Auction Nov. 13

FARMINGTON – Just in time for early holiday shopping, the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area is holding The Great Charity Auction on Saturday, Nov. 13 at the North Dining Hall at University of Maine Farmington. This year’s event is sponsored by Franklin Chrysler, Inc., Franklin Savings Bank, and Hight Chevrolet Buick GMC.

The festivities begin with a Silent Auction and Live Auction Preview from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. While auction attendees browse and bid, they will be treated to live music by the Franklin County Fiddlers. Auctioneers for the evening are the popular Wendy and Rodney Allen.

Auction items include, but are not limited to:
A Vapor Kayak donated by Johnson Outdoors/Old Town Canoe
Exquisitely made hand-made furniture
Area dining packages
Massages
Artwork by local artisans
Garden items
Handmade quilts
Diamond and tourmaline ring
Camping package and outdoor grill
Signed Boston Celtics memorabilia
Gift certificates form generous area businesses
and much, much more

The Great Charity Auction is one of the signature fund-raising events that helps the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area support programs and initiatives that improve people’s lives. Programs range from delivering meals to isolated, older adults through the Meals on Wheels Program, to preventing child abuse and neglect through the Franklin County Children’s Task Force educational outreach efforts, and home visiting program.

The auction is free and open to the public. There will be a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. For more information, or to donate items, please contact the United Way at 778-5048. Pre-bid sheets are also available for those who are unable to attend.
