Wildlife tracking workshop March 7

STRATTON – Join Friends of the Boundary Mountains and Wildlife Tracker Diane Boretos, a professional wetland scientist, for a Wildlife Tracking Workshop in the Boundary Mountains Sunday March 7, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; meet up at the Eustis/Stratton Community Building (located on Main Street in Stratton)
Dress warm and bring a lunch, water and skis or snowshoes.

Participants will learn how to identify wildlife tracks, explore the mountains of western Maine, develop a large predator monitoring group and learn how wind power development is threatening the boundary mountains. Diane Boretos is the principal biologist and founder of Call of the Wild Consulting and Environmental Services. She is co-author of Stackpole Books’ Bird Tracks and Sign and editor of Wetlands by Paul Rezendes. She has extensive experience dealing with protection of endangered species under state and federal regulations. Diane has been tracking wildlife in New England and in the Rocky Mountains for 15 years and has studied with master trackers such as Jim Halfpenny and Paul Rezendes.
