Wilton’s Third Thursday coming up

WILTON – New to this month’s Third Thursday, a summer’s evening festival of activities and entertainment, will be the music of Prism Jazz Band from Skowheagan and a silent auction which will benefit the children’s new playground fund at Bass Park.

The event will be held, rain or shine, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 20 in downtown. The band will be performing at the monument on Main Street. The silent auction that includes chances to bid on dinner for two at the Kawanhee Inn, a one night stay at the Comfort Inn, 10 movie passes to the Narrow Gauge Cinema and a battery-operated drill from Wilton Hardware will be held at the Bass-Wilson Building. Tours of the building will also be provided throughout the evening.

Other activities include, Pack 517 Boy Scouts’ Rain Regatta Races, a gathering of antique and special interest cars, demonstrations by the Blacksmith’s Association at the Wilton Museum, face painting, chalk drawing, a farmers’ market and food vendors.
