Crisis & Counseling Centers adds new director position

AUGUSTA, Maine – Crisis & Counseling Centers announced that Teresa Clark has been named as Director of Compliance and Quality Assurance, a recently created position that will oversee the organization’s compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines, including a clear process of continuous quality improvement.

Clark served 20 years in the Navy and holds several advanced degrees including a master’s in business education from Southern New Hampshire University, a master’s in social work from the University of New England, and a bachelor’s of business administration and human resource management from the University of Hawaii.

“The appointment of Teresa to this position is a testament to the value we place on our quality services and shows our commitment to complying with the rules and regulations of our industry,” said CEO Lynn Duby. “She is a thoughtful, thorough person ideally suited for that position.”

Clark served as director of the Crisis Stabilization Units at Crisis & Counseling Centers prior to moving into to the Director of Compliance & Quality Assurance position. Since accepting the position, Clark has received additional training from the Health Care Compliance Academy in New York.

Crisis & Counseling Centers is a private, nonprofit social service agency licensed by the State of Maine as a comprehensive mental health and substance abuse treatment facility. With clinical programs operating out of nine locations, the organization is the sole provider of 24-hour mobile crisis response and stabilization in Kennebec and Somerset counties, responding to more than 1,000 calls each month; provides outpatient treatment to approximately 1,000 individuals each year; provides integrated medical and behavioral healthcare in two large county jails; and provides family support services statewide.
