FARMINGTON – Franklin Community Health Network is pleased to announce that accountant Natasha Erb, CPA, (seated in front) recently received certification as a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Certification is indicative of her personal commitment to excellence within the profession of healthcare financial management.

Erb joins colleagues Eileen Moore, (center standing) FHFMA; Melanie Meader, (seated at left) CHFP, CPA; and Eric Martinsen, FHFMA (at right); in achieving CHFP certification. “The finance area at Franklin Memorial Hospital now has more certified people than most hospitals in Maine,” said Eric Martinsen, vice president of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. “This demonstrates the excellence that we strive for.”

To become a CHFP, one must be a HFMA member for a total of two years; receive passing scores on the HFMA core certification exam and one specialty exam; have completed a minimum of 60 semester hours at an accredited college or university or meet an education equivalent; provide favorable references; and have two years of healthcare or financial management experience.

To maintain the designation professionals must remain an active member of HFMA and meet professional development maintenance requirements every three years. Fewer than 2,500 HFMA members nationwide have achieved this accomplishment.

Erb has been employed by Franklin Community Health Network for more than two years and resides in Farmington.
