FMH to Host Nursing Conference to discuss magnet principles: a hallmark of nursing excellence.

FARMINGTON – The Ben Franklin Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital will host a nursing conference titled Magnetizing your Work Environment on Friday, September 26, featuring keynote speaker Gail Wolf, RN, MSN, DNS. The program will take place from 8 a.m. to noon in the Bass Room.

The program is an opportunity for bedside nurses and nurse managers to learn about magnet principles, which are widely recognized as a hallmark of nursing excellence. Research has demonstrated that a magnetized, high-performing work environment has a profound impact on nursing practice and patient care.

Keynote speaker Gail Wolf is the coordinator of Nursing Leadership and a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research includes organizational dynamics and team development and systems.

Wolf’s presentation will: define the four development levels of team; discuss methods for dealing with difficult people within teams; and discuss the forces of magnetism that are important at each team level. There will be ample time for questions and answers.

Tuition fee is $50 per person. Fee includes the program, continuing education credits, and refreshments. There will be no charge for Franklin Community Health Network employees.
