FMH to host special event for breast cancer survivors

FARMINGTON – The Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital (FMH) will be the setting for a special luncheon for breast cancer survivors on Wednesday, May 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Dr. Eric Gunther, medical director of the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center.

The program and meal are free of charge, but pre-registration is required and a guest is welcome. Please call Jamie Lucas, breast health nurse, at 779-2430 to RSVP or for additional information.

According to Lucas, lunch will be served at noon and will be catered by the Homestead Bakery. Pasta bar, salad, freshly baked bread, and dessert will be served.

This special program is being offered by the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center in conjunction with sponsors Fran Dubord (sister to Martha B. Webber), Peter Webber, and Salon West.

The Martha B Webber Breast Care Center is located in the Franklin Health Medical Arts Center and provides comprehensive breast care and timely access to screening, diagnostic, clinical, and care-support services. In addition to digital mammography, the center offers risk assessment, breast ultrasound, stereotactic needle biopsy, physical therapy including lymphedema treatment, surgical services, post-operative care support, wig and prosthesis referrals, and community education. Services are also provided at FMH Outpatient Services in Livermore Falls.
