NotifyMD makes pediatric donation

FARMINGTON – On September 3, the Activities Committee at NotifyMD in Farmington stopped by Franklin Memorial Hospital to present Rebecca Ryder, hospital president, with a donation of five quilts and three pillows to be given to children being cared for in the pediatric unit.

The donation came about from employees wanting to give children something comforting while they are in the hospital and to have something to take home with them for their recovery. The employees worked on the quilts in July and August.

According to Annmarie Comeau, an employee at NotifyMD, the committee asked employees to donate a square for each quilt. “We were fortunate to have some experienced quilters among our staff,” she said. “Once all the squares, batting, and backing were sewn, we set up a table in a common area where employees could tack the top and bottom together during their breaks.”

In accepting the gifts Ryder said, “We certainly do appreciate the thoughtfulness, time, and effort that NotifyMD employees put into this project, which will enhance a young patient’s experience while staying at Franklin Memorial.”
