FARMINGTON – A special informative program titled “Cancer and You” is taking place Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Bass Room of the Ben Franklin Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The free program will provide a variety of information for cancer patients and their families.
Featured will be sessions on:
* Cancer Resource Network and Patient Supports with Kip DeSerres, MSPH, vice president of Health Initiatives of the American Cancer Society in Maine;
* Managing Health Care Costs with staff from Franklin Health Access, a program of Franklin Community Health Network that assists uninsured and under-insured people in Greater Franklin County with access to affordable health care services and prescription medications;
* Navigating the System with Suzanne O’Brien, a cancer survivor; and
* Day to Day Living with staff from the FMH Oncology Department.
The program will include a continental breakfast and light refreshments. Anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP by calling 779-2381.
