FARMINGTON – In the aftermath of a fire on January 30, Franklin Community Health Network officially closed its incident command center for the Medical Arts Center fire on Feb. 8 and is now in the building reconstruction phase, which will take from six to nine months to complete.

According to Wes Pooler, chief of facilities management, “Safety measures including the temporary support of the roof trusses is now complete, which was necessary and will stay in place. The permanent roof structure will be built to incorporate that temporary structure.”

Today passersby may have seen a remarkable sight as 20-foot sections of the building’s smokestack were being removed by a large crane that has been on the premises since Feb. 6. “We needed to replace the stack so it needed to be removed; Cianbro is proceeding well with the replacement of the roof,” added Pooler.
