WELD – Two arrests and a summons were the result of a fight that broke out following accusations of a sexual assault of a female at a party on Friday.

Arrested on a charge of assault were Jesse Keoski Coffin, 29, and Kase Blodgett, 22, both of Weld. Summonsed on a charge of unlawful sexual touching was Matthew Buckman, 21, also of Weld.

At 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, Sgt. Steve Lowell of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department responded to a complaint of assault on Maxwell Road. On arrival he found one man, later identified as Buckman, standing in the middle of the road yelling.

“He was in the road and had been beat up,” Det. Tom White said. During Lowell’s investigation, an 18-year-old female said she had been sexually assaulted. Coffin and Blodgett were charged with assaulting Buckman after the allegations of a sexual assault were made by a female attending the party.

Coffin was released from the Franklin County jail on Tuesday, Aug. 12 on $1,000 unsecured bail. Blodgett was also released from jail on Tuesday on $2,000 unsecured bail. Both have a court date of Oct. 9.
