Police need help after Industry’s road fabric is stolen

INDUSTRY – The Sheriff’s Department is asking the public for help in finding the people who stole six huge rolls of stabilization road fabric worth $3,000 from a job site on Shaw Hill Road over the weekend.

Deputy Heidi Gould of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department said the people involved must have used a utility trailer or pick-up truck to haul away the six, 17.5-foot long rolls of road fabric that held 300 feet of material and weighed 350 pounds each.

The fabric was part of a road construction project the town of Industry is undergoing.

“It’s a good-sized load to be hauling down the road,” Gould said. She added it’s made of a very unique fabric and would be easily identifiable for the size of the load taken and the material.

If anyone happened to see suspicious activity at the work site over the weekend or saw the large load traveling, or has any other information in this case, please call the Sheriff’s Department at 778-2680.
