FARMINGTON – Police are looking for witnesses to a vehicle rollover on the Wilton Road that occurred at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police, Mark Ancker, 62, of Industry, was headed east on Wilton Road when a black pick-up truck forced his 1990 Plymouth van off the road, causing it to roll over onto its roof and into a snow bank in front of the Farmington Ford dealership.

Ancker was able to crawl out of his van and was unhurt, according to the police report.

“He said it was a black truck that forced him off the road,” Officer Bridgette Gilbert of the Farmington Police Department said. “It didn’t strike his van.” Gilbert estimated the damage at $1,500.

“It was a late model black Dodge pick-up with dual exhausts that caused an accident which resulted in the loss of my van,” Ancker said. “The driver sped away. I was left trapped upside down until help arrived.”

Ancker said he would like to find the truck’s driver because he needs to contact the insurance company. In the meantime, Ancker is asking “if anyone knows of a safe, legal, inexpensive auto available, I need one and I have very little money.”

Witnesses can call the Farmington Police Department at 778-6312.
