Aletha W. Grover (1932-2011)

CLEARWATER, FL – Aletha W. Grover, 79, of Clearwater, Florida, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Feb. 1, 2011.

She was born in North Jay, Maine, in 1932. As a child, Aletha learned to play the piano and dance, but was stricken with polio at nine years old. She eventually recovered and went on to teach piano and dancing.

She married her beloved husband, Donald Grover, in 1953, and they remained inseparable until his death in 2010. She moved, with her family, to St. Petersburg, FL in 1967, and ultimately to Clearwater, FL in 1999.

God, family, and music remained central in her life. She was always an active member of the Methodist church, serving as a choir member, pianist, and as a member of numerous church organizations.

She is survived by her son Mark; son David and his wife Adrienne; grandchildren Tom and Adam; and many wonderful relatives & friends too numerous to name.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Rd., Clearwater, FL. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Friendship United Methodist Church , 2039 Druid Rd E, Clearwater, FL. Spring interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton, Maine, with the time and date to be announced. Arrangements in Maine are in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center, 136 High St., Wilton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 2039 Druid Rd E, Clearwater FL 33764.
