Constance C. Robbins (1924-2009)

FARMINGTON – Constance C. Robbins, 84, of Farmington, Maine, and Vero Beach, Florida, died on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center in Farmington.

She was born on Sept. 10, 1924 in Farmington, the daughter of Edward and Thelma (McLeary) Connors. As a young lady she worked at Forsters Manufacturing before moving to Portland, where she started a family. She and her family would be remembered for the active rolls they had in the competitive swimming program at the Portland Boys Club in Portland.

She married Richard Robbins in 1971 at Shorey Chapel in Industry, Maine. They made their home in Rochester, N.Y. before retiring to Vero Beach. Constance enjoyed traveling abroad, swimming throughout her life including participating and winning in Seniors Swim Meets in Florida.

Constance is survived by her husband Richard; her daughter Carol Paulson Gile and her husband Everett of Industry; two stepdaughters Linda Soule and her husband Tom of Wiscasset, ME and Nancy Fletcher and her husband Steve of Apopka, FL; a son Rodney E. Paulson of Portland; two grandchildren Kraig A. McKenney and Kirk A. McKenney; five great grandchildren Morgan, Paige, Bernadette, Aidan, and Evan McKenney; a sister Nancy Flick and her husband Bob of Farmington, ME; a sister-in-law Melba Michelsen of NY; a niece; four nephews; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Adams~McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington with Rev. John Tolman officiating.
