David A. Koljone (1921-2008)

LIVERMORE – David A. Koljonen, 87, of Livermore, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008 in Livermore.

He was born on Mar. 28, 1921, in Riley, the fifth child of Einari and Juliana (Pontio) Koljonen. He graduated from Jay High School with the class of 1939. After high school he was employed in the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy, Mass. until 1947 when he purchased the family farm on the Riley Rd. in Jay.

On June 17, 1945, he married, Fanny Donald at her home in North Jay. In 1962 he began working for International Paper from which he retired in 1983. In 1964 he moved from Jay to the Tessier Rd. in Livermore.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fanny of Livermore; one son, David of Livermore; several nieces, nephews, and one cousin. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers; one sister.

Funeral services will be held, 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 136 High St., Wilton. Family and friends are invited to call at the center from, 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton.
