KINGFIELD – Earlan E. Dexter, 60, died Sept. 3, 2009 at his home in Kingfield with his family by his side.
He was born in Lexington, Maine, on May 17, 1949, the son of William E. And Gladys L. (Taylor) Dexter. Earlan was educated in the schools of Mass. And married Sandra Merrill Feb. 14, 1999 in New Vineyard.
He worked in the local mills most of his life and retired due to ill health in 2007. Earlan was a member of the Mt. View Bible Church in New Vineyard and he loved camping, craftwork, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Dexter of Kingfield; a daughter, Jackie Waugh of New Hampshire; a step-son, Anthony Magno of Birmingham, Alabama; w step-daughters, Karen Beasley of Grottoes, Virginia, Lisa Thomason of Wheatland, CA, Gina Raye Dexter of Wilton; half brother, Carroll Clark of Phillips; half sister, Linda Cates of Anson; many grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins with special recognition to 3 cousins, Rachel, Nancy and Paula. His parents, a brother Rex, and a sister Lillian predecease him.
Friends wishing may make donations in his memory to the Mt View Bible Church c/o Harry Ellis, 1175 New Vineyard Road, New Vineyard, Maine 04956. Interment will be done at a later date in the New Vineyard Cemetery. At the family’s request there will be no visitation hours.
A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at the home of Earlan and Sandra Dexter, 111 W. Kingfield Road, Kingfield, Maine.
