RANGELEY PLANTATION – Eric P. Holteen of Rangeley Plantation, died unexpectedly May 15, 2011.

He was born, raised, and educated in Concord, Mass., and graduated from Brandeis University. Eric was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed snowmobiling, kayaking, hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. He was a consummate musician and over the years was a member of several bands playing and writing music. He was the owner of Woodworks and enjoyed making furniture. He worked in construction and built his own house and shop.

He was the son of LaRue Holteen of Mashpee, Mass. and the late Dr. W. Paul Holteen of Concord, Mass. He was the father of Malcolm Holteen of Auburn; brother of Paul Holteen and his wife Dorothy of Acton, Mass; and Pamela Holteen Lee of Charleston, SC.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the clubhouse of Nagog Woods in Acton, Mass. at 3 p.m. Donations in Eric’s memory may be made to the Rangeley lakes Heritage Trust, PO Box 249, Oquossoc, ME 04964.
