Janice Hamlin Voter (1938-2009)

FARMINGTON – Janice Hamlin Voter, 71, of Livermore Falls, died Monday morning, Nov. 9, 2009, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington after being a patient there for several days. She had been in declining health and confined to her home for quite some time.

She was born in Waterville, Sept. 18, 1938 the daughter of Carroll and Doris (Maxwell) Hamlin and graduated from Waterville High School in 1956. She and her cousin David had both attended their 50th class reunion in 2006. On June 17, 1978, she married Richard Earle Voter, Jr. He died Feb. 18, 2004.

Janice worked several years as a secretary at Keyes Fiber and later worked for the State of Maine Department of Transportation until illness and disability forced her out of the work force. In recent years, she enjoyed her white Ford Mustang convertible along with game shows, and casinos.

She is survived by her friend and companion, Sharon Leroux of Livermore Falls; several cousins, David Palmer, Shirley Johnson and her son Andrew Johnson and daughters, Laurie Baulanger and her husband Jeffrey and their daughter, Brooke; Melanie Mayo and her husband Steve and their three daughters, Krystal, Krysten, and Katye; and Sherry Sierra and her sons, Shawn and Balentin and her daughters, Lindsay and Tatiana; and Jeffrey Bubar all of Maine; and Marlene Palmer Robichaud of Massachusetts.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel at the New Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
