Marie Grace “Gracie” McDaniel (1921 – 2008)

AUBURN-Marie Grace “Gracie” McDaniel, 86, of Livermore died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born on Oct. 5, 1921 in Lewiston, the daughter of, Victor and Alma Gagne. She attended St. Joseph’s Orphanage in Lewiston and Lewiston High School. Marie worked as a homemaker to her husband, Shirley McDaniel.

She enjoyed traveling, knitting, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. She was very outgoing and had a great sense of humor. She made many friends along the way and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by a daughter, Arlene Fortin, and her husband Mike of Sabattus, a granddaughter, Sheri Buck and her husband Scott of Jay; two grandsons, Peter Jacques and Paul Jacques of New Hampshire; two great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Tyler Buck; close friends, Anna and Gordon Faunce. She was predeceased by her husband, sister Gertrude Durant, and brother.

Family and friends are invited to call 4-6PM, Mon., Aug. 4, 2008 at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Rd., Rte. 133, Jay. Interment will be at the Waters Hill Cemetery in Livermore.
