AUBURN – Marilyn E. “Mickey” Thibault, 83, of Rangeley, died early Tuesday evening at the Androscoggin Hospice House surrounded by her family.

She was born March 11, 1927, in Rangeley, a daughter of Vernon and Esma (Ross) Collins and graduated from Rangeley High School in 1944. After high school, she attended Thomas College for 2 years.

On Sept. 18, 1948, she married Maurice R. “Mo” Thibault at the Rangeley Free Baptist Church and together, they owned and operated Thibault Funeral Home for over 40 years. “Mo” died Dec. 13, 2007. Mickey also worked at Rangeley Trust Co. as a bookkeeper and teller and also at Mingo Springs Golf Course for 17 years.

She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, the Masonettes, American Legion Auxiliary 120, and Summit Rebekah Lodge of Rangeley. She was active in the Republican Party having served as secretary of the Franklin County Republican Committee and serving as a poll worker in many elections.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Mercier and her husband William “Bill” of Rangeley; her son, Dennis J. Thibault and his wife, Anne of Mechanic Falls; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Ardine “Tiny” Collins and his wife Marjorie of Rangeley and a sister, Jean Bennett and her husband, Rolfe of Berlin, N.H.

She was predeceased by a son, David in 2008; brothers, Saul, Elden, and Ronald.

Public memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the Church of the Good Shepherd, Main Street, Rangeley, with Father Judson Pealer, officiating. Following services, a time of sharing and refreshments will be held in the undercroft of the Church hosted by the Episcopal Church Women. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery, Rangeley.
