DIXFIELD – Marilyn E. (Palmer) Montgomery, age 71, of Greenville, TN, died on Oct. 28, 2006 while at the Life Care Center in Greenville, after a short illness.

She was born and raised in Dixfield, the daughter of the late Leslie and Lucille (Locke) Palmer. She attended schools in Dixfield and graduated from the Deering High School in Portland, Maine. In earlier years, she worked as a CNA. Her family noted that she was an avid book reader and was always seeing to increase knowledge. She enjoyed fishing and hunting and her specialty was baking.

She was the widow of Jeremy Montgomery and Henry Libby.

Survivors include a son, Stanley Libby and his wife Sue of Greenville, TN; a daughter, Linda Flores and her husband Jose of Mabank, TX; two step-children, Linda Libby of Rocky Hill, CT. and Henry Libby, Jr., of Portland; a sister, Norma J. Anderson and her husband, Andy of Dixfield; six grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, Leslie and Lucille Palmer and her brother Reginald Palmer predeceased her.

Public memorial graveside services will be held Friday afternoon, Aug. 14, 2009 at 1 PM From Riverside Cemetery, Dixfield, with Rev. R. V. Anderson presiding. Arrangements are in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center, 42 Weld St., Dixfield.
