TEMPLE – Natalie Lillian (Reed) Mosher, “Nat,” 83, of Temple, died Thursday Jan. 6, 2011, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness, with family at her side.

She was born March 25, 1927, in Tremont, Maine, a daughter of Hollis G. and Lillian M. (Rich) Reed. She received her education at Pemetic High School in Southwest Harbor and studied Home Economics at the Farmington Normal School. She was also the pitcher for the women’s softball team at the Normal School.

She had the good fortune of meeting Hollis Blaine Mosher while a student in Farmington; they married July 20, 1947 in Lewiston. They happily raised three children and were proud to have lived all of their married life in the same home in Temple.

In addition to being a devoted homemaker, she was a bookkeeper for Cooperative Land Co. and for many years served the Town of Temple as the town clerk out of her home.

Natalie was a member of the State Democratic Committee, the Good Neighbor Club, the Temple Planning Board and the Congregational Church, serving on the Board of Deacons.

She will be remembered for taking great care of her family. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, and enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. Her grandchildren and her newborn great-granddaughter were great blessings to her.

Her survivors include her husband of 63 years, Hollis B. Mosher of Temple; their children: Richard B. Mosher and his wife, Kim of Temple and their two daughters: Amanda M. Mosher and Vanessa K. Mosher; Reed L. Mosher and his wife, Loanne of Vicksburg, Mississippi and their son Mark L.; and Kathlyn L. Childs and her husband Peter of Temple and their sons: Matthew J. and Nathan B. and his daughter Emma L ynn Childs; two brothers: Richard Reed and Clayton Reed and his wife, Marjorie, and a sister, Emma Richards, all of Mt. Desert Island.

Public memorial graveside services will be held in the summertime at the Village Cemetery, Temple, the exact date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, remembrance gifts may be given to the FMH Oncology Dept. 111 Franklin Health Commons Farmington, Me. 04938.
