NEW SHARON – Randall B. Carson, 61, of New Sharon, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 31, 2010 at his home in New Sharon surrounded by his family.

He was born on May 25, 1949 in Farmington, the son of Alwin B. and Maxine (Parlin) Carson. He attended local schools, graduating from Mt. Blue High School in Farmington.

He was self-employed for the majority of his working career, owning and operating R&R Carson Trucking. Randy enjoyed working on his tractor trailer truck, racing in mud runs, and spending time with his family. He was also a member of the New Sharon Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his mother, Maxine Carson of Skowhegan; his wife, Gail, whom he recently married on, Dec. 2, 2010; his children, Troy Carson and his wife, Sherrie of Farmington and Todd Carson of North New Portland; step-children, William Groder of Wiscasset, Shawn Groder of Windsor, MO and Kimberly Ann Heerdink and her husband, Neil of Greenwood, LA; a brother, Russell Carson and his wife, Sandra of Portland; grandchildren, Leah Everetts of Denver, CO, Josh Groder of Wiscasset, Zach Groder of Windsor, MO, Riley and Kolby Heerdink of Greenwood, MO and Amanda Perry of Wiscasset; an aunt, Marie St. Amand of New Sharon; nieces Tami Arsenault of Portland and Teri Rapaport of Gray.

He was predeceased by his father; a wife, Ruth Ann Carson on Sept. 18, 2009.
