FARMINGTON – Richard T. Wright, 79, of Farmington, died early Wednesday morning, June 30, 2010, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

He was born on July 30, 1930, in Farmington, the son of, Clinton and Ruby (Lunny) Wright. He attended and graduated from local schools before enlisting in the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.

On Aug. 31, 1957, he married, Mary Williams in Cape Cod, MA. They made their home in Farmington raising two children while he did carpentry work the majority of his life, most notably for Sully Greenwood.

An avid reader, he enjoyed being a history “buff” particularly of the Civil War.

He is survived by his children, James Wright and his wife, Kimberlee of Westbrook and Susan Robbins and her husband, William of Freeport; three grandchildren, Eliot Robbins, Garen and Grier Wright. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary on Jan. 14, 2007.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be announced. Gifts may be given in his memory to the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Rd., Farmington, ME 04938. Arrangements are in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington.
