FARMINGTON – Robert James Abbott Sr., 59, of Farmington passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at his home on High St. in Farmington.

He was born April 26, 1951 in Phillips, the son of James R. and Verna Mae (Kennedy) Abbott. He was educated in the schools of Phillips. Robert worked for several years at Farmington Shoe Co. & Franklin Shoe Co. in Farmington. As a young man he also worked at Forster Mfg. Co. in Strong. Robert enjoyed reading and was an avid movie buff.
Robert is survived by his daughter Jeanette Dube and husband Jamie of Orrington; his son Robert J. Abbott Jr. and his wife Lori of Arizona; five grandchildren Katelyn, Joshua, Eric, Bryanna, and Brady; a brother Darold and his wife Shirley of Moscow; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Robert was predeceased by his sister Alice Balleau.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Farmington. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams~McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington. Those wishing may send online condolences at www.adamsmcfarlane.com
