RUMFORD – Roger L. Day, Jr., 48, of Pine St., Rumford, died unexpectedly Monday evening, Aug. 3, 2009 at his home.

He was born April 20, 1961, in Lewiston, a son of Roger L. and Janice K. (Jewett) Day. He received his education in Oxford schools and though disabled, enjoyed working as a handyman. His hobbies included playing video games, motorcycles, and doing light carpentry work.

He will be remembered by his family for his quiet, gentle spirit and his desire to always help either a friend or wild animals that were in need.

He will be sadly missed by his parents of Rumford; two children: Adrienne Day of Norway and Jason Day of New Gloucester; a brother, Martin Day of Lewiston; two sisters: April Day and Vicki Day, both of Wilton; aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece and a nephew. He was predeceased by an infant son, Steven.

Family and friends are invited to attend a public memorial graveside service on Tuesday morning, Aug. 11 at 11 AM at Farrington-Morton Cemetery, Rt. 2, Mexico. Remembrance gifts may be given to the McKennel’s Animal Adoption Agency 88 Hall Hill Road, Rumford, Me. 04276. Anyone in need of a ride is invited to call his family at 364-3037.
