Ronald Lester Burton (1943-2009)

AUBURN – Ronald Lester Burton, 65, of Industry, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at the Hospice House in Auburn, following long illness.

He was born Dec. 23, 1943 in Industry, Maine, a son of Thomas J. and Dorothy (Watson) Burton. He attended Farmington schools and graduated from Farmington High School in 1962. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of the 82nd and 101st Airborne.

For many years, he ran Ron’s Market in Farmington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and hiking and was a member of the Farmington American Legion.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelli Depierro and her husband, Lee of Florida; a brother, Robert Burton and his wife, Helen Foster Burton of Industry; a sister, Janice Currier and her husband, Wayne Currier of New Sharon; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Stephen Burton in 2002, and a sister, Jacquelyn Burton Farrington.

His family would like to thank the Hospice House in Auburn for the exceptional, compassionate care given to Ronald during his final illness and would like to especially thank the New Hope Baptist Church for all their love and care that they gave to Ron and his family.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., (Rtes. 2 & 27), Farmington, on Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services, with military honors, will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the New Hope Baptist Church, with Pastor Brian Rebert officiating. Following services, private committal services for his family at Fairview Cemetery, Farmington. Following services, a reception will be held in the church vestry.
