Ruth Edna Taylor (1923-2009)

WATERVILLE – Ruth Edna Taylor, 85, of Rome, formerly of New Sharon, died early Wednesday morning, July 29, 2009, at Inland Hospital, Waterville.

She was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Littleton, N.H., the daughter of Harris Drown and Maude (Woodard) Drown Enman. She graduated from New Sharon High School and for many years was employed at Forster Mfg. Co., Wilton. She married Chester Taylor. He predeceased her on April 23, 1982.

Mrs. Taylor was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed shopping, cooking, attending yard sales and buying for her grandchildren. She enjoyed NASCAR; her favorite driver was Tony Stewart.

She is survived by a son, Danny Taylor of Jay; two daughters; Bonnie Ladd and her husband, Wayne of Rome and Connie Evans and her husband, Bruce of Palermo; two brothers: John Enman of Phillips and Randall Enman and his wife, Violet of Dixfield; one sister: Edith Penttingill of Canton; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son: Robert “Bobbi” Taylor and three grandchildren: Bruce Chipman, Jr., and Jaymi and Brittany Taylor.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., (Rtes. 2 & 27) Farmington, Friday evening from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at the Center at 11 AM. Committal services will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Farmington. Following services, all are welcome to attend a family reception at the Lane-Dube AMVETS Post #33, Rt. 4, Jay.
