Letter to the Editor: Thanks for the water

2 mins read

Players from the Mt. Blue High School football team would like to thank Poland Spring of Kingfield for donating bottled water for the 2010 season. Players Matt Archer, Matt Davis, Ethan Kyes, Sean Moore (front), Jamie Brooks, Cam Sennick and AJ Larrabee are pictured getting ready for a fun game of football and field hockey with the Mt. Blue girls field hockey team.

We would like to thank the people of Poland Spring for donating bottled water to the Mt. Blue Football program.

There is a tradition at Mt. Blue High School where moms (with the help of dads) get together to provide support for the football players in a variety of ways. We decorate the locker room and provide food and drinks for the players on game day. This year, we have also had team dinners and the players have received “snack bags” for the away games. We wanted to provide an alternative to soda and sport drinks, as well as, find away to help without asking parents to do even more than they already do.

So we asked Poland Spring of Kingfield to help us. They generously donated the water needed for all of these events. We want our community to know that this donation by Poland Spring is greatly appreciated by the players, coaches and families.

The young men of the Mt Blue Football team work hard everyday to maintain balance between academics, family life, friendships, health, and sports. We want the team to know that they are supported not only by their families but also by the community at large. Thank you to Poland Spring of Kingfield for helping us do that.
