Trout available For private pond stocking

FARMINGTON – Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District is taking orders for the spring trout stocking program through May 9. We are able to offer both rainbow and brook trout to anyone with a stocking permit. There is a minimum order of 34 trout per order. The hatchery has both 5″-6″ and 6″-7″ trout available for our May 11 delivery.

Your order form and a copy of your stocking permit must be sent or brought into Franklin County SWCD at 107 Park St, Farmington ME 04938 along with the check or money order to reserve your trout.

By request, we also sell gallon bottles of “Clear Pond” ($56) to eliminate and keep algae out of your pond, as well as 44# bags of fresh fish pellets ($44). We do not stock these so only pre-orders are available.

Exciting news: If you have always wanted to build a pond, but need information to get you started or you have a pond that needs maintenance, we have a limited number of CDs from a Pond Construction and Maintenance seminar that was put on by experts from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
