Lady Beavers defeat Lyndon State, 67-54

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – Ashley Busque fired in 23 points Friday to propel the University of Maine at Farmington women’s basketball team to a 67-54 North Atlantic Conference victory over Lyndon State College.

Erin Porter had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Beavers and Caitlyn Laflin amassed 13 points and 11 boards. With the win, UMF improves to 10-14 overall and 6-7 in the NAC.

For Lyndon, Jackie Wetzel was the lone double-figure scorer with 17 points, and the duo of Jen Stoddard-Imari and Naomi White tallied nine points each. Stoddard-Imari had 12 rebounds for Lyndon, Who fell to 8-15 overall and 4-9 in the NAC.

Lyndon State returns to action Saturday at 4 p.m. when it plays host to Thomas College. The Lady Beavers, on the other hand, travel to Johnson, Vt. tomorrow for a 4 p.m. matchup with Johnson State.
