Laflin earns NAC, MWBCA honors

FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington junior forward Caitlyn Laflin (Farmingdale, ME) was honored today for her efforts last week with recognition as the North Atlantic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Co-Player of the Week.

Laflin tallied 28 points and snagged 10 rebounds in the Beavers’ win over NAC rival Thomas College. The junior also led the team with 15 points and nine rebounds in a loss to the University of New England.

The reigning NAC Player of the Year, this is the fifth time in her career that Laflin has been recognized by the conference for her weekly efforts. This is the second occasion that Laflin has been honored as the MWBCA Player of the Week.

The Beavers (3-4) are off for the holiday break. Farmington is scheduled to return to action Jan. 3-4 at Williams College in the Williams Holiday Classic.
