The Polar Bears forged a 22-9 lead 15 minutes into the contest, but the Beavers responded. Trailing by 11, Farmington closed out the final 2:35 of the opening half with a 9-2 stretch, finished by a DJ Gerrish (Rumford, ME) 3-pointer, to cut the lead to 28-24 going into intermission.

The Bowdoin lead dwindled to one point with the hosts bidding to tie or take the advantage when the Polar Bears distanced themselves with a 9-2 run for a 39-31 lead with 11:37 left in the second half. Sellew scored five points in the stretch. Farmington nibbled at the lead, but Bowdoin followed with a 9-0 run — highlighted by a DeFeo three and a Phillips slam — to build a 50-36 command with 4:49 left in the game.
