JOHNSON, Vt. – Johnson State dropped a North Atlantic Conference men’s soccer contest in overtime on Saturday at Mineart Field to the University of Maine at Farmington, 1-2. The win pushed UMF to 6-4 overall, and 2-1 in the North Atlantic Conference. The loss drops Johnson State to 6-3-1, 2-1 in the NAC.

The first half was knotted at 0-0 with Farmington having a goal called back for off-sides. The second half saw the Badgers scored first with a penalty kick as junior Alex Komeyan (Essex, VT/Essex) slotted the ball coolly by Eric Corcoran (Gorham, NH) in the 53:00 and the race was on. Both teams pushed hard and Johnson saw a goal called back also for off-sides.

Farmington found the answer in the 78th minute as Michael Kelly (Norton, MA) took a ball from Dillon Clark (Old Town, ME) forcing OT.

The visiting Beavers struck in the first half of OT with Kelly receiving a through ball from Sean Raph (Fairfield, ME) and leaving JSC goalkeeper Steve Noyes (Barre, VT/Spaulding) in no man’s land.
Both keepers were strong throughout with Noyes recording four saves while Corcoran made six saves.
Farmington will travel to Lyndon State on Sunday in a North Atlantic Conference contest 2 pm on the same date.
