Tanguay shares player of the week award

FARMINGTON – University of Maine at Farmington junior center Josh Tanguay (Gorham, ME) was recognized as the North Atlantic Conference Co-Men’s Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference today.

Tanguay shared the award with Lyndon State College senior center Brad Durr.

Tanguay scored a career-high 28 points, including 12 of 13 from the field, and matched a career best with 13 rebounds in the Beavers’ win over NAC foe Thomas College. The junior also scored 20 points and grabbed 11 boards in a loss to the University of New England and eight points in a loss to the University of Southern Maine. On the week Tanguay averaged 18.6 points and nine rebounds while shooting 73% (24-33) from the field.

This is the first time Tanguay has been recognized as the NAC Player of the Week. He was honored as the NAC Rookie of the Week on one occasion (Feb. 12, 2007).

The Beavers (3-4) are off on holiday break until Jan. 8 when they are scheduled to visit Plymouth State University.
