Letter to the Editor: Trump’s first month

2 mins read

If you live in the Fox News bubble then Trump’s first month as president has been a resounding success.

However, if you live in the world of actual facts, cause and effect, then Trump’s first month is troubling.

Trump’s selection of Steve Bannon, a white supremacist member of the alt-right, as Whitehouse Chief Strategist is contrary to traditional American values.

Trump has unnecessarily alienated Mexico; a $5 billion trading partner.

His withdrawal from the Trans Pacific Partnership will increase the consumer cost of all Asian products coming into the United States and result in Asian trading partners turning to China and moving away from trade with the United States.

Trump has unnecessarily alienated the Australian Prime Minister – a country that has been our ally in all wars since WW2.

Trump’s unconstitutional Muslim ban on counties that have not been involved in terrorism against the United States has further fueled resentment of the US in the Arab world.

Trumps business conflicts of interest are glaring and can only be fully known by him releasing his income tax records – which he refuses.

Trumps ties to Russia and to the Putin regime are troubling, and the question that must be answered is: were the members of the Trump election team in communication and complicit with the Russian effort to influence our Presidential election?

Trump’s over the top attack on the free press is in line with other authoritarian regimes of dictatorships.

Then there are the misrepresentations, exaggerations and the outright lies, labeled as alternative facts, that float freely from the Trump White House almost daily.

This is by no means a comprehensive list and should trouble all Americans.

  1. Its been interesting to say the least

5 Trump cabinet members made false statements to Congress during the nominating process

Sessions has recused himself from the Russia play in the election investigations

Blamed “his” generals when his Yemen “operation” had “problems”

  2. I will go with Fox news. It is about time that we put American citizens first
We are never going to please the rest of the world so why try
Cheap products from other countries are no good if you don’t have a job to get money to buy them

  3. Thank you, William. I appreciate your posts. You stand for truth.

Fox News is a bias source. Please look into reliable sources. ( google it) I DO NOT mean liberal, I mean unbias. GET A CLUE.

  4. Wouldn’t it be great if everyone would come together for the good of the country, not the political parties.

  5. Right on, Bill.

On taxes: If there’s nothing to hide, why hide it?

On ties to Russia: If there are none, then an investigation would clear the whole mess up. If there are ties, then Trump and company would do just as they’re doing – resist an investigation at every turn.

Attacks on the press: A tactic of every dictator in modern history, from Stalin, to Mao, to Mussolini, to Hitler.

Steve Bannon: Simply look at the man’s history. Scary to think of him as the “chief strategist” of anything other than a hate campaign.

Alternative facts: The “truth” from the White House and the staff members the president has chosen shifts almost daily and virtually every week brings a new revelation of dishonesty and dissembling.

And you’re right: your list is by no means all that could be said about this troubling, unstable, and dangerous presidency.

  6. Arnold

Gosh, I forgot about Hitler………………………silly me!

As to MSNBC, their reporting/commenting can be checked source wise if one takes the time to do so, they are pretty up front as to their bias which FOX ain’t

  7. Has the President been properly vetted for a security clearance?

It must be determined that the individual’s personal and professional history indicates loyalty to the United States, strength of character, trustworthiness, honesty, reliability, discretion, and sound judgment, as well as freedom from conflicting allegiances and potential for coercion, and a willingness and ability to abide by regulations governing the use, handling, and protection of classified information. A determination of eligibility for access to such information is a discretionary security decision based on judgments by appropriately trained adjudicative personnel. Eligibility will be granted only where facts and circumstances indicate access to classified information is clearly consistent with the national security interests of the United States.

  8. Once again we see a dictator rise to power by appealing to the “working class” with grandiose promises of making them “great again”. Trump supporters have allowed themselves to believe that this billionaire, along with his cabinet of millionaires, really give a damn about the average American. Our new leaders are people who gained their success and their riches by stepping on the exact same people who now give their support to the newly elected dictator. The masses enjoy being led like sheep. It saves them from having to think for themselves.

  9. I did not vote for Trump. He is like an adolescent, always wanting attention, be it by tweeting or by bragging. He is not fit to be president, but he is. He has tricked people into thinking he is out for them but he only wants to be the biggest and the best. And he doesn’t care what you think. However, the reason why this “child” is fighting importations of goods from other countries is because we are all fed up with America having no industry, hardly and the people have embraced the “America First”, so in that respect, we can’t blame him. But I think he will lead us into World War 3.

  10. Sounds like President Trump has accomplished more in a month than former Presidents have their full terms! Congratulations President Trump and keep up the great work!!

  11. The release of his tax returns would do a lot to “clear the air” as far as his business ties to Moscow and elsewhere. He wants to “drain the swamp” but I think he’s expanded it quite a bit, sadly. To be truly Presidential in form and substance, one must be much more focused on “we” than on “me.”

  12. The selective outrage of the left would be humorous if were not so destructive. I don’t recall the outrage over things like fast and furious, Benghazi, the IRS targeting opposition groups, the VA debacle, if you like your healthcare you can keep it. We need not even mention outright lies like Hillary saying “she was under sniper fire” when she landed in Bosnia despite the video showing that she was not only not being shot at, but had Chelsea with her. No calls for an investigation for lying and for Benghazi there was just no there – there! This even after individuals have come out indicating how they duped the american people it still was not enough.

Then during the campaign when so much was coming out about through leaks concerning the Clinton campaign and the DNC colluding to stop Bernie Sanders as well as many other interesting views inside the minds of those in the Clinton camp. No concern about the information leaked only blaming the Russians. They won the election for Trump – right? Fast forward and now it is all about the Russians and Trump, no worries about how classified information is leaking (classified information should supersede information on private servers right) and all the left is worried about is the information and not the leak despite much of the information leaking is classified. Interesting or Sad?

Now we have the Russians and the lefts assertion that the Trump campaign and the Russians colluded to defeat Clinton. Not the Russian hacking but the Trump campaign helped. This despite the complete lack of evidence concluded by the CIA, FBI and DIA and reported as such in the New York Times, https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/14/us/politics/russia-intelligence-communications-trump.html. Despite the title of the article a thorough reading demonstrates that much of this is wishful thinking trying to build a fire where there is only wet wood, and then indicates in several different ways there is no evidence. Did the Russians hack the DNC and the Clinton campaign. Probably and who knows who else did, Podesta made it easy by password and his password. Really Mr. Podesta?

Additionally we can conclude that President Obama never thought the Russians were the enemy. Remember the reset button, or his hot mike statement to Russian President Medvedev, that he would have “more flexibility after his reelection”? What about the debate where POTUS Obama mocked candidate Romney in the debate indicating that the 80’s called and want their foreign policy back. Hmmm? Is hacking or trying to influence an election and act of war as Jeane Shaheen D-NH has suggested. Well under POTUS Obama’s watch we hacked Angela Merkel’s phone in Germany, made disparaging comments about Ben Netanyahu in the Israel election, just to name a few.

Do our legislators talk to Russian counterparts? Of course they do, and it is always happened, except for Claire McCaskill D-MO. who indicated that she never spoke to Russian ambassadors as a member of the senate Armed Services Committee, until it was discovered that she had… Oops, should she be investigated as colluding with the Russians and the Trump campaign? Or how about Chuck Schumer D-NY – that guy has had enough pictures of himself with Putin to be considered a member of the Putin family.

Politicians talk to politicians, it does not matter what country they are from, in this case it is to be expected. It does not mean there is a vast conspiracy and it is a false narrative to think so, just like the vast right wing conspiracy that Hillary Clinton talked about concerning her husband’s infidelity. Her husband did it so there was no conspiracy. Russia is a deflection for the Democrat party who lost on election day. They lost because average everyday Americans, along with some minority groups clearly understood that for their own well-being a change was needed.

  13. Cisco…. you are wasting your time…. their heads are made up… Most of em will tell you they never heard of what your are saying…. because they did not want to…

  14. Anybody heard of chicken little, pretty sure he or she was a liberal democrat,;(redundant). I’ll bet none of you blame Trump because the Dow has surpassed 21000 pts.I know its not all his fault but neither is all the crap that is being put on him.Think back to November when the best the Dems could come up with was Hillary .I believe Trump can, with some support, make America much better than we’ve been in the past 8 years.

  15. I am a Troubled American?
Troubled at how many crybaby whimps we have whining about anything and everything.

Alienated by Hillary because I’m deplorable.
    Wait…thats a good thing.
Go to jail where you belong.

So after all..I’m just fine thanks.

  16. Who has lent Trump the money to keep his loans afloat?
Who owns most of his debt?
The man hasn’t released his financials to let anyone know or divested himself from his holdings.
This alone should disqualify him from holding a security clearance.
That and he’s a pathological liar, narcissist, and sociopath. But anyone who voted for him probably considers these to be presidential qualifications.

  17. The lefties can’t deal with the devastating losses/rejection they suffered in the 2016 election, and can’t pull themselves up, so they keep trying to pull Trump down to give them even a faint hope for the future, but all they’re doing will just help Trump win a second term. They awakened the Sleeping Giant/Silent Majority, and filled it with a long-overdue resolve/motivation. Their greatest fear is that Trump WILL Make America Great Again, and that it will be a VERY long time before they ever elect another President or majorities in the House and/or Senate. That fear is CERTAIN to be realized. God Bless America and President Donald Trump.

  18. Chuck, I wasn’t referring to you, but to the more verbose “author” of the ridiculous diatribe at the top of the page. I didn’t rebut either comment, not finding them worth of rebuttal. A lot of the folks ranting about Trump here will be pretty unhappy for the next 8 years. That is as it should be. Sour grapes make bitter wine, which will become more bitter as time passes, but only those who indulge in it will taste the bitterness.

  19. Taxed enough: Yep lets blame the Trump Jump on our new President, er, I mean, give him credit, for the Dow going up a thousand points.

Who should we blame for it rising from about 8000 in Jan 2009 to over 19,000 in 2016? 12,000 points up in 8 years is quite a rally…hmmmm

  20. Don’t forget that the 2018 midterms will be a rather good predictor of whether or not Trump will get a chance to run in 2020.

  21. @Marie E. I do not dispute the Russians hacked the DNC, or that they tried to influence the election (I indicated this in my post). However, they never hacked into the voting machines, nor is there any proof in the article you posted that the Trump administration colluded with the Russians to change the election. That is the real question here, that the Democrats are posing.

To say that the Trump administration has to be indicted because the Russians hacked the DNC or tried to influence the election is to say that you want to blame your dog who was laying at your feet when the fox raided the hen house. Doesn’t make sense!

  22. Arnold P

My apologies (really!) , I just felt compelled to respond, my therapist says it’s good for me and I’m getting better

Separate and apart from agreeing with him (and generally I tend to – not always) Gililand writes and expresses himself very well

There is somewhat of a factual basis for his assertions/allegations

  23. I would hope that conservatives and liberals alike would be concerned about a President who takes to Twitter with obvious lies (whether about the size of his inauguration or lately a claim that Obama ordered phone surveillance), and seems hyper sensitive to any criticism. I would think that even those who supported Trump would not be so blind in their support that they wouldn’t be concerned about allegations about ties to Russia, and other scandals rocking the Presidency. The reason Trump’s approval rating is lower than any other new President is not because of liberals or the media. The President has acted more like a petulant child than a man deserving of respect. Already the US is being taken less seriously on the world stage, and China may decide to dump currency and bonds in response to Trump’s criticism, which could cause an economic collapse (more likely they’d dump just enough to create economic problems for the US). I suspect one reason Trump stopped attacking China is it was made clear to him how vulnerable we are to very legal actions China could undertake!

I also think conservatives and Republicans would be worried about the strong backlash in protests and activism on the left. It seems even more intense that the GOP “tea party” movement that swept Republicans into power in 2010. In fact, Trump may be the best thing that happened to the Democrats – they are motivated, active, and opposing an unpopular President. The Republicans won big in 2016, but the way the first month and a half of the Trump Presidency has played out, they appear in more trouble than the Democrats.

  24. Scott,
Motivated? You mean rioting? Women’s March’s? Yeah motivated, motivated to riot, loot, plunder, steal, NOT WORK, whine, claim racism, unequal pay (biggest farse), teach their daughters to wear hats that represent thier private part. Yes that is motivated. I am in complete constitutional agreement with having a forum to discuss things from different sides and vote on them but this so called motivation you speak of is current day and age is unacceptable.

  25. “In terms of high-end product influx into the US, Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets; say in Dubai, and certainly with our project in SoHo and anywhere in New York. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.”
    Donald Trump Jr. 2008.

The President cares about one thing above all others, his money.
I wonder how much the Russians have him leveraged?
He’s now tweeting like someone’s crazy uncle about Breitbart stories.
It’s like watching a more incompetent version of the Nixon administration implode.

  26. William, you pretty much just parroted everything that every media company who donated money to the Clinton Foundation Slush Fund has put out there. None of them Donate to the Trump Foundation. Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS, all have parent companies that donate millions to Hillary and various Democrat causes. None of them have nothing good to say about Trump, FOX just seems a little less biased than the others.

  27. Nice try Scott ..Wisful Thinking on the effect of all the childish behavior of the liberals.
    Ya don’t get it.

Trump never stood a chance…….until the Democratic party and the media showed itself for what it is.
    Corrupt and arrogant.
    You own that.

Don’t be fooled by the media ..(AGAIN..)
All we see is anti trump everything on the news..and every silly idiot with a protest sign gets coverage.
It all looks massive..and it’s all making people move away from you…
Because more and more have learned .. You can’t believe the media.

You are correct that there is a new motivation…
But not in the direction you mention.
But you don’t know that because it’s not being covered.

    But…it won’t matter.
    The secret got out already.

People are running away from all the things you mentioned.
    Because….not everyone is crazy.
    And you own that too.

  28. All this was correctly identified as a media mirage…
Everyone knows the media has a liberal agenda.
Everyone knows you can’t believe they say.

    It’s like a mirage to the liberals…
    Water…….Water……water……..

    Stay in denial then.
You got and will continue to get what you deserve.
    No water.

  29. Matthew – no, almost all protests were peaceful. They did not riot. You are spouting false reports. Face it – the Democrats are organizing much like the GOP did with the tea party. To claim they are rioting is silly and wrong. Moreover, it is hilarious to see people who supported the tea party somehow condemn Democrats organizing. The tea party was a very good thing – it got conservatives usually not involved in politics to play a role. Now the Democrats have a similar movement. It’s good – and it’s not at all a riot!

  30. Scott, I respect your opinion as you typically approach issues with a common sense approach, which I appreciate, however in your post I believe you are wrong on two points. Number one President Obama, did not exactly like being questioned either, with statements like “I won” or “they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion” and there are more, but typically candy coated by a complicit media.

Second and most importantly the “obvious lies” you refer to concerning the surveillance of the Trump Campaign, I ask you to carefully read the response of the former President’s camp. There is no denial, the response was framed as such so that when the proof is made clear, that they have wiggle room. Twice the FISA court was approached, and the president of course does not order the surveillance a judge does, but that does not mean he was not aware of it. It is interesting that the Attorney General recused himself from any Russian investigation and if the tapping is proved there is no Assistant AG confirmed to investigate should the tapping be related to the Russians. It will be an Obama appointee to investigate. Very convenient.

This is much like his statements concerning the IRS scandal that the media did not cause a scandal. The president did not order it but said this: “This summer, they’re also seeing a flood of attack ads run by shadowy groups with harmless-sounding names. We don’t know who’s behind these ads and we don’t know who’s paying for them.” “You don’t know if it’s a foreign-controlled corporation. You don’t know if it’s BP. You don’t know if it’s a big insurance company or a Wall Street Bank. A group can hide behind a phony name like ‘Citizens for a Better Future,’ even if a more accurate name would be ‘Corporations for Weaker Oversight.” “They pose as non-for-profit, social welfare and trade groups. Every single one of them, virtually, is guided by seasoned, Republican political operatives.” And while he didn’t explicitly say they should be investigate, he is too savvy for that, he did imply that the Tea Party should be looked at.

Finally, why is that when the NY Times, Washington Post, Buzzfeed, all use, “maybe” “possibly”, “un-named sources”, “on condition of anonymity” in their narratives, it all must be true? However, conversely when the current POTUS who has access to intel, and is probably working diligently to weed out leaks, may have found evidence of wire tapping it isn’t true?

  31. People aren’t rioting Matthew, the protests are almost all peaceful. And people are motivated. The effort to dismiss this as “riots” is pathetic and untrue. If you’re bothered by hats representing “private parts,” you’re showing yourself to be a bit of an out of date prude. You may find it “unacceptable” but that’s just your opinion. If it works, if it gets out the vote in 2018, if it stymies Trump’s agenda by pressuring Republican moderates, then it is acceptable.

Fact: No President has had such high disapproval ratings early on EVER. Fact: the world community now is treating the US with disrespect because they don’t respect the US President. The US is powerless to prevent that. Fact: there is a bigger counter movement growing than the tea party response to Obama – and that will make a difference in 2018 and 2020, even if people want to whine about hats. I believe that when all is said and done, the biggest impact of the Trump Presidency will be to invigorate the Democratic party and lots of people who took their rights, rational thought and progress for granted. Progress and freedom cannot be taken for granted, the government can always threaten. People realize that now, and are active.

  32. One point to add: Trump is neither a conservative nor a Republican at heart. I think the GOP will be hurt more by Trump, and I hope conservatives realize that he is not one of theirs. Yes, he attacks the left, but think about his life, what he stands for, and how he behaves. Conservatism is rooted in a belief in the importance of tradition, dislike of powerful government, and a sense of decency and honor. We need strong conservatives and liberals to make the country work because without opposition there is no democracy. My concern about Trump is not because of his political party, or even his appointments. I do not trust him, I am amazed at the lies he tells, and I think he has no sense of ethics. I wish we had elected a conservative President in 2016 – it’s good for parties to switch power and for there to be diversity at the top. I think Trump is a real threat to conservatism, and especially libertarian ideals that have thrived in the GOP.

  33. If all Trump ever did was keep Hillary out of the White House, that would be enough. Everything else he does is just a bonus. I won’t rebut the immature Yellow Dog whining, acting out, denial, and fantasies. That’s all they’ll have for a LONG time.

  34. YEH Matthew … YEH Arnold … YEH Wishful … YEH Media … there is so much that we could list to show why the American people are fed up with the Democratic party. Trump may not be perfect but he is a breath of fresh air compared to Obama and Hillary and Kerry, etc.

MY GOODNESS! It must be that most of you have forgotten how “divisive” Obama was when he always seemed to take the “wrong” side in a lot of riot/killings. He caused MOST of the hateful attitude that is now rampant across this country. He never spoke out on behalf of our police … even when it was later proven that they were in the right. However, if the media spoke out against it there was a total uproar and many who were punished.

Oh yes, remember when James Rosen of FOX and his family were “wire tapped” … oh … that was OK because it was Obama who let it happen.

What we need immediately is for Schumer and the other snowflakes to stop their tactics and stalling and get all the appointments confirmed so that Trump can try and do what he has promised to do. The petty stuff that the media are focusing on is absurd and not at all productive for America.

  35. Mame – Obama left with approval ratings over 60%, extremely well liked. Those are numbers in Reagan territory. Trump has the highest disapproval ratings of any President so early in his term. His approval rating is just above 40%. There is a reason for that. Obama will be remembered as one of the great Presidents, who despite being attacked, belittled and ridiculed by a vicious opposition, stayed calm, collected and got things done – a record string of adding jobs, bringing the economy back from the 2008 collapse, and being a symbol of profound cultural change. Now, you can call names like “snowflake,” but that only makes you look silly. Don’t expect the Democrats to do for Trump what Republicans refused to do for Obama. Indeed, given the energy and activism among Democrats, many who were not active before, I think you’re seeing the rise of a democratic version of the tea party that the GOP started after Obama was elected. Don’t whine, embrace that both sides can be active, and that just as Republicans stood firm against Obama (McConnnell said it was his job to thwart Obama from getting things done), Democrats will do the same with Trump. That’s politics, and both sides play it.

  36. Scott, former president Obama had an approval rating of just over 45% at one time, according to polls. You are comparing a rating of someone who left office with someone who just entered. Do you think that is a fair comparison?
At this point do think most polls are even accurate? Or that anyone really cares?

  37. For those who like cherry-picked, often slanted polls, as Scott appears to, you may remember that the polls almost all said, and ALL the left-leaning polls said, Hillary couldn’t lose! The Scott Walker recall exit polls all said he’d lose, as well. How’d those work out for ya? Perhaps, at some point, you’ll realize that the Democrat Party, and their media lackeys and pollsters, lies to YOU, too! People also lied to leftie-related pollsters and reporters about their feelings re Obama, out of concern they’d be portrayed as racists if they said they didn’t like him, many don’t give their political opinions at all, which also slants the results. When you say, “How could Trump have won, when all the polls said he couldn’t?”, the answer is obvious.

  38. Scott,
You must have got your numbers for approval ratings from the same place that said Hillary was going to win by a landslide.

  39. I love to read the continuous insistence on defending Mr. Barack Husain Obama and compared to the “just” elected president as if there is nothing he can do better or in just weeks of his actual presidency and being handicapped by the continuing obstruction of the democratic leadership. Below is just a small list of failures that was left by Oby. Let’s see how the wickedly left thinking space cadets defend or spin this? 40. Sometimes when someone tries to hard, they show the weakness of their point. Almost nothing you wrote JL is about Obama, and many things are just wrong. You can’t deny that he took over when the country was in an economic collapse, stayed the course, and the recovery was pretty remarkable given the depth of the recession – record job growth over years. Obama fixed many of the mistakes caused by the previous administration – ISIS was created in response to the US invasion of Iraq, and that mistake explains problems continuing there. He was a consequential President who symbolizes a cultural shift in the US as we enter an era of globalization and transformation. Just watch as Obama gains stature, especially when compared to the hot mess in the oval office now! You Obama haters will just have stew and seethe as history remembers him much differently than you do.

  41. Yeah right Scott, I forget, his other famous attributes, deny-deny-deny, “…it’s not my fault…” “…it’s Bush’s fault” ” I was not aware of…I heard about it on the News…” and so on and on. The empty suit wins!
    Ya’ll all lost!

    Nuff Said…

  42. Good points, JL, but Yellow Dogs care nothing about truth, facts, morality, right and wrong, patriotism, or their own hypocrisy. No added value in directing a rebuttal to them.

  43. “When you say, “How could Trump have won, when all the polls said he couldn’t?”, the answer is obvious.” Is It?

Don’t jump to conclusions. Can’t wait for the investigation into Russian interference?

  44. I came across this writing/response on another blog, so I can not take credit for its points and observations made, however, many I did think about and pondered the same conclusions as well as asked myself the same questions. I offer them to those that missed these little secrets and details that it seems that the same standard was not used eight to nine years ago to the normal screening and questioning asked of not only previous presidents(except for Mr. O) but even at a stricter and higher bar for the new President. Let’s say, for starters; The constant, “”Why doesn’t Trump turn over his personal tax report?????” Yet the birth certificate of Obama, literally took threats and questioning from both Hillary and later Trump, just to submit a questionable paper that was said to be a birth certificate? You would think both sides or normal Americans find this conundrum and mysterious circumstances a little more evoking, than someone’s personal income tax forms? Just saying..

The birther issue was just a teaser, the rest has some interesting highlights of the president’s background regardless of your political views, and as Mr. Scott suggests, let’s see what the “scholars” will record in the history books as well as it will be interesting to see what they put in his “Presidential Library” about his early years now that he is out of office. Remember that, (while we in “real-time” have witnessed these historic/historical presidency of 8 eight years) the information is for those in the future of the revisionist historians. This write up which I conceded credit for is “THE UNANSWERED MYSTERY OF THE CENTURY!!!” As it was written from a union guy in Chicago that did not vote for Oby…

“In a country where we take notice of many, many facets of our public figures’ lives, doesn’t seem odd that there’s so little we know about our current president, Barack Obama.

For example, we know that Andrew Jackson’s wife smoked a corn cob pipe and was accused of adultery; Abe Lincoln never went to school; Jack Kennedy wore a back brace; Harry Truman played the piano.

As Americans, we enjoy knowing details about our newsmakers, but none of us know one single humanizing fact about the history of our own president.

We are all aware of the lack of a incontestable birth records for Obama; that document managing has been spectacularly successful.

There are however, several additional oddities in Obama’s history that appear to be as well managed as the birthing issue.

One other interesting thing… There are no birth certificates of his daughters that can be found?

It’s interesting that no one who ever dated him has shown up. The charisma that caused women to be drawn to him so strongly during his campaign, certainly would in the normal course of events, lead some lady to come forward, if only to garner some attention for herself. We all know about JFK’s magnetism, that McCain was no monk and quite a few details about Palin’s courtship and even her athletic prowess, Joe Biden’s aneurisms are no secret; look at Cheney and Clinton, we all know about their heart problems. Certainly Wild Bill Clinton’s exploits before and during his White House years, were well known. That’s why it’s so odd that not one lady has stepped up and said, “He was so shy…” or “What a great dancer…”

It’s virtually impossible to know anything about this fellow.

Who was the best man at his wedding?
    Start there. Then check groomsmen.

Then get the footage of the graduation ceremony. Has anyone talked to the professors? It is odd that no one is bragging that they knew him or taught him or lived with him.

When did he meet Michele, and how? Are there photos there? Every president gives to the public all their photos, etc. for their library, etc. What has he released? And who voted for him to be the most popular man in 2010? Doesn’t this make you wonder?

Ever wonder why no one ever came forward from President Obama’s past saying they knew him, attended school with him, was his friend, etc?? Not one person has ever come forward from his past. It certainly is very, very strange…

This should be a cause for great concern. To those who voted for him, you may have elected an unqualified, inexperienced shadow man. Have you seen a movie named “The Manchurian Candidate”

As insignificant as each of us might be, someone with whom we went to school will remember our name or face; someone will remember we were the clown or the dork or the brain or the quiet one or the bully or something about us.

George Stephanopoulos of ABC News said the same thing during the 2008 campaign. He questions why no one has acknowledged the president was in their classroom or ate in the same cafeteria or made impromptu speeches on campus. Stephanopoulos also was a classmate of Obama at Columbia — the class of 1984. He says he never had a single class with him.

He is such a great orator; why doesn’t anyone in Obama’s college class remember him? Why won’t he allow Columbia to release his records?

Nobody remembers Obama at Columbia University…

Looking for evidence of Obama’s past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there… but none remembered him.

Wayne Allyn Root was, like Obama, a political science major at Columbia who also graduated in 1983. In 2008, Root says of Obama, “I don’t know a single person at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me. I don’t have a classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia, ever.”

Nobody recalls him. Root adds that he was also, like Obama, Class of ’83 Political Science, and says, “You don’t get more exact or closer than that. Never met him in my life, don’t know anyone who ever met him. At class reunion, our 20th reunion five years ago, who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of Barack! And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was. The guy who writes the class notes, who’s kind of the, as we say in New York, ‘the macha’ who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a human who ever met him.”

Obama’s photograph does not appear in the school’s yearbook and Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia, provide school records, or provide the name of any former classmates or friends while at Columbia .

    Some other interesting questions:

Why was Obama’s law license inactivated in 2002?
It is said there is no record of him ever taking the Bar exam.

Why was Michelle’s law license inactivated by court order?
We understand that was forced to avoid fraud charges.

It is circulating that according to the U.S. Census, there is only one Barack Obama but 27 Social Security numbers and over 80 alias connected to him.

The Social Security number he uses now originated in Connecticut where he is reported to have never lived. And was originally registered to another man (Thomas Louis Wood) from Connecticut, who died in Hawaii while on vacation there. As we all know Social Security Numbers are only issued ‘once, they are not reused’
No wonder all his records are sealed…”

  45. Cant wait to find out where all the Clinton Foundation money went that was supposed to go to Haiti..
    It Never got there,,,Hmmmm.
Cant wait cant wait cant wait,,,
    Oh goody goody goody goody,,
Whoops I just wet my pants…

  46. Some things which are obvious to virtually everyone will never be acknowledged by some people regardless of the evidence. Nothing to get excited about, it’s just the way they are. You can’t fix “some things”.

  47. The stuff above on Obama is silly. He’s been very open about his past and those kinds of claims are simply false. That’s the thing – people can make fake accusations, are not required to give evidence, and people believe it because they want to. That’s why Trump can make outlandish statements like Obama ordering wiretaps, the truth is irrelevant as long as you’re on the attack. Though in this case, he’s angry because Republicans are not supporting his claims. Same with claims against Hillary Clinton. Most of that was just fiction thrown out there with no evidence, but it didn’t matter to a public that simply will believe whatever suits their biases. Trump’s lack of respect for even the semblance of truth may be pushing that so far that the public reacts, and actually starts wanting evidence when attacks are made.

Oh – I was watching the polls closely before the election. The polls always had a Trump victory as possible, some even had it as likely. This claim that the polls all said Hillary couldn’t lose are false – it’s another one of those false claims that people throw out, and others believe. Sigh.

  48. JL…. Thanks, all very interesting… It reminded me of a few years ago….. Every soldier that was in the US Army when Elvis was in…. went to basic with him then those that went to Germany were best friends and had bunks next to him… Yet no one ever heard of B. H. Obama in his prior years… I guess only S. Erb understands….

  49. Comparing Obama to Elvis? Not only have there been biographies on Obama, but CNN had a detailed story of his life. But hey, if you want to pretend he’s somehow strange or different, that says more about you than about Obama.

  50. if you have issues with Trump,,he makes it easy I agree. Seems he just cant help himself right??

If you support or still support the Democratic “offer”,,you have no credibility with honest and open minded people.

but you are AOK with that I’m sure.

The masses are looking elsewhere now.

  51. Yes, Scott I must agree that some of these “facts” seem silly and some speculative and not completely accurate only because either proof disputing it was not given or flimsy at best…Also, I will agree that these claims would seem silly for any normal person born and raised in any-town USA with American values, culture and patriotism. That would true of any American regardless of political affiliation. However, if you read Obama’s own book, the travels to from the US to Africa during his early childhood (btw, depending on who did the research, they don’t even agree or have indisputable proof on what age and for how long he supposedly was out of the country and whether or not was adopted and became a citizen of another country of his adopted father). So, my point is, irrespective of whether he is or isn’t an American citizen, clearly and well demonstrated that it’s not in his heart largely due to his upbringing, mentors and culture that he was raised in, that is distinctly different than ours.

And to answer the staged, fabrication and managed events, documents and pictures…his has been some of the best we have seen

    Nuff Said…

  52. BJB: Note in the article the references to “anarchists”. These folks show up at big events to do damage…watch for them the next time a world bank meeting takes place….of course they do not represent the typical protestor, they represent the typical anarchist…

  53. Marie,,your “media” links are a hoot.

you seem to be a little slow in realizing that the media has cooked its goose with most of us.
They have no credibility as they have been proven to lie for their own agenda,,,over and over.

Anyone can search and find a media “report” to support their own “wishes”.
Which is exactly what you are doing.

So all your efforts are moot if that’s all you have.

    Hello…

  54. You know what is really silly? That after years of the media producers, researchers, followers and even with the added help of the WWW, only “1” person was presented as the “sacrificial lamb” as the BFF of Oby at Columbia, that even challenged his relationship with the vice-president. I don’t know? Maybe it’s just me, but I took tons of pics with my family and friends, selfies, etc, the last time I visited NYC, the museums, went bar hopping, strolled through Central Park just like the lamb allegedly did with Oby (as your link suggested) …¿at least “1” pic of them together could have been presented? Not just your link but anywhere?

However, silly me right? BTW, remember the staged pic of Oby and his trap or skeet shotgun shoot pic? Mr. 2nd Amendment, right?

Well, just follow your own link and read more about Mr. Root. He offers a more reasonable and compelling argument than the “1” person relvelation.

    Nuff Said…

  55. Too bad that some choose to just confirm their own biases by depending on personal blogs and dubious media sources for “news”

Conspiracy theories abound, take your pick. But you’ll be just the poorer for it.

  56. Thank you Marie for that confession (weird but..OK).

What a site to behold in airport and hotel lobbies how people watch the screen… Resulting in all this righteous indignation.
    Hook…Line and Sinker.

    THINK!

  57. Opinions are “US”…..Based on what we “see”, which is determined by what we “look” at.

If I spend all my time intrenched in “media”(looking at everybody else)…. that wouldn’t leave much time to be anything other than what they want me to be.

Oldest trick in the book folks.
What a bunch of BS going on producing hysterical anxiety based on….Media.
    Let’s think for ourselves.
If we are honest… We can do this.

  58. Pretty decent first month. Best construction spending for the last ten years, manufacturing hiring triple that of government, 235,000 jobs created, unemployment decreased, debt decrease… If this upsets you it is going to be a long eight years. MAGA!

  59. @ Nerf – MAGA, aye! What the lefties are MOST afraid of is that Trump WILL Make America Great Again and they won’t win any more elections! They doing all they CAN to PREVENT it! Can you say “Treason!”?

  60. I just got my first months shipment of the Make America Great Again Club KoolAid

It just didn’t smell write so I canceled my membership and send it kcab (refund is pending)

  61. Hey Chuck…Sorry for your troubles.
    I feel your “pain”.

When I canceled my membership to the ,,
    “We’re Better Together” club….
I never got my refund either.
They said something about sending my money for Haiti relief…. Since they didn’t want to send any of theirs add promised.

Oh well… It’s just a cruel cruel world I guess..
    Right Buddy?

  62. Dear Ms or Mrs Refunds (you are at least 18?)

Actually I don’t mind helping anyone who needs it

At the first meeting of the Make America Great Again Club I attended I saw many who REALLY needed it!!!

The KoolAid cash bar was open butt I hardly it expected to be another entitlement!

I offered to help but it is hard to make out a czech to or start a conversation with some one who’s name tag says * Probably just proud to admit it I guess (need for help or real ID)

  63. I’d been waiting eight years for my hope and change to arrive, it finally has. I have hope that Trump will bring the change necessary to correct the course Obama has led the country down. Taking care of people is the right thing to do, I would rather take care of the citizens of this country first before helping others after all we are the ones footing the bill. Slogans are wonderful as long as it is your politician saying them. The proof is in the results. The team in this administration are people who have a record of proven results. You may not like the type of results because your guy didn’t appoint these people, but I would bet my house that if your guy appointed the same personnel you would be hollering from the rooftops at how wonderful they are. You people on the left need to find your safe space and take a deep breath. People that didn’t agree with Obama survived eight years and with the exception of Mr. Gilliand (whom I concerned for) those that disagree with Trump will as well. MAGA
