WILTON – Tom Withrow, of Wilton made a donation of six violins to the Mt. Blue Regional School District orchestra program. There are five full size violins, and one three-quarter sized violin.
Withrow purchased the violins, and gave them TLC, and brought them to the orchestra teachers in MBRSD so they will be available for local students to play. The orchestra teachers are very excited and thankful to have these additional instruments for their program.
The MBRSD orchestra program is always happy to receive donated instruments. If you have an orchestral instrument which needs a home, please contact the MBRSD orchestra teachers: Nancy Beacham at Cascade Brook School, 778-4821, nbeacham@mbrsd.org or Steve Muise at Mt. Blue Middle School, 778-3511, smuise@mbrsd.org You can find out more information on the MBRSD orchestra program at http://web.mbrsd.org/orchestra
Tom just keeps on finding ways to give back to the community. He has built instrument stands, carved signs, put in countless hours helping to build Skye Theatre. Just recently he built some very nice shelves and pegs for our stage area.. He and his wife are truly treasures for the arts in Western Maine. Thanks so much for all you both do. Phill & Jan
Thank you, Tom. You are a great example of the way we should be.
Tom I’m e-mailing this story up to Peter at UMO. He will surely enjoy reading it and get a kick out of seeing the picture of you and your violins. Great story, great picture and great people. Thank you!
Thanks again Tom, this is great! I second what Phill, Jan, Tony and Ken say above!
