New martial arts studio opens

LIVERMORE FALLS – Looking for a way to channel the energy of your children into a creative discipline? United Fitness & Martial Arts of Winthrop has opened a martial arts studio in downtown Livermore Falls.

A grand opening will be held on Monday, March 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. See some demonstrations, enter to win a free membership and make sure to take advantage of the grand opening one day special.
 
Whether you are new to martial arts, have studied before, or just want to get in shape mentally, emotionally and physically, United Fitness is offering programs that range from traditional martial arts to family safety.
 
Each class is geared to a variety of age groups for girls and boys, ages 3 to 17.
 
Martial Arts teach the vital skills necessary to be a leader in today’s world. In the first four weeks of training, you can expect to see marked improvement in balance and fitness. Students also learn about goal setting, self-discipline, respect and perseverance.
 
The instructor, Sensei Jaaron Shaw, has been training in the martial arts for over 10 years. He was a serious competitor in Maine and around New England for several years on the Team Kicks USA. He has trained with many notable martial artists, including Hanshi Bruce Juchnik, Grandmaster Robert Hoe, Bill “Superfoot” Wallace, Grandmaster Michael DePasquale Jr., Kyoshi Pat Kelly, Kyoshi Brent J. Crisci and Shihan Ryan Chamberland.
 
As well as being a certified personal trainer, Sensei Jaaron is certified by the American Red Cross in adult, child and infant CPR, and first aid. He runs fun and safe classes, which give youngsters the tools they need to succeed in life.

  1. My son is 4 and takes karate from Sensei Jaaron and he is wonderful with the kids. Cole really enjoys the class and sensei Jaaron.
