FARMINGTON – In honor of Mother’s Day, The Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community (www.womenworkandcommunity.org) and Coffee By Design have proclaimed May to be Mothers’ Month. During the month of May, Coffee By Design will contribute proceeds from the sale of their “My Mom’s Coffee” to Women, Work, and Community.

Coffee By Design’s Mary Allen Lindemann says the decision to partner with WWC fits with their tradition of working with area nonprofits. “For some time we have been watching Women, Work, and Community. Their vision for the future is impressive.”

The Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community is a statewide training organization helping Maine women and men succeed in their workplace, business, and community. Women, Work, and Community offers both one-on-one assistance and classes in four program areas – Building Your Career, Starting Your Own Business, Managing Your Money, and Becoming a Leader. All programs offered at Women, Work and Community’s centers across the state are free.

Locally, Pam West of Mountain View Chocolate Shoppe, an ambassador for Women, Work, and Community will be selling 12 oz. bags of My Mom’s Coffee during the month of May at her shop Pleasant St. in Farmington. Pam, who is excited for the opportunity to give back to Women, Work and Community, will be hosting coffee tastings from noon to 2 pm on Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8 with ambassadors and staff from the Farmington Women, Work, and Community office.

“We are so excited to be partnering with Coffee By Design for My Mom’s Coffee during May,” said Gilda Nardone of Women, Work, and Community. “Both organizations value quality products and services, creative enterprise, and community building. We look forward to promoting Coffee By Design and raising visibility and funding for Women, Work, and Community.”

Lindemann says one of ways that Coffee By Design is able to work with organizations is through their Community Coffee Program. During designated months they partner with nonprofits to support them and encourage Coffee By Design customers to join in their commitment to the nonprofits. “In these difficult economic times, we feel it is important that their efforts are supported knowing that monies they receive are put to good use and will go far. The work that Women, Work, and Community does pays dividends for Maine today, and will help us build a stronger Maine for the future.”

My Mom’s Coffee is available for purchase at Coffee By Design’s Coffee Houses, retail outlets across Maine or through Women, Work, and Community. To purchase My Mom’s Coffee online, visit http://womenworkandcommunity.org/?page_id=326
