20th Annual Summer Performing Arts Camp 8:00 am to 3:00 pm daily (including weekends) July 1-16 July 1 is registration: come between 8 and 12 to register and work a bit. Performance on the 16th. This program is free; it is a demanding pre-professional program in dance, singing, acting, fencing, and art. Ages 6-17. The Wayne Community Church auction is back this summer, offered both online and as an in-house silent auction! The online auction begins on Friday, JULY 1st and runs through Saturday, JULY 9th. Gold Leaf Senior College at UMF , art exhibit. The exhibit features 29 local artists/Goldleaf members working in acrylics,oils, photography, wood, glass and more. The exhibit will be at the Emery Art Center on the UMF campus. The opening reception will be on June 17th from 5-7PM. and will continue thru July 29th.
Sunday Morning Common Loon Paddles on Saddleback Lake Sunday mornings 8:30-10:30 a.m. Take a guided kayak trip with NICK LEADLEY to observe loons of the Rangeley Lakes Region. Nick is a specialized bird photographer and loon enthusiast. He has been photographing common loons and native wildlife for 20 years plus. He prides himself in sharing the splendors of the Rangeley Region, including its native inhabitants and fauna. Guests must arrive 20 minutes prior to their scheduled activity time. Open to ages 9+. Sunday Geocaching Sundays from 10 AM - 12 PM Enjoy a Sunday Funday outdoors for the kids! Geocaching has finally made it to Saddleback Mountain. Geocaching uses GPS and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches" at specific, marked locations. Come drop the kids off for an exciting treasure hunt! Geocaching is a great activity to get outside, explore the Maine woods, and find some cool souvenirs to bring home. Saddleback Lake Sunset Canoe Trips Sunday evenings 5-7 PM Sitting just a few miles from the base of Saddleback Mountain is Saddleback Lake. Come take a quiet paddle on the lake that provides endless views of the mountain, and great opportunities to see some wildlife up close.
