Aztec Two Step 2.0 returns to the Vienna Union Hall with Maine native and soon to be named to the Central Main Institutes Hall of Fame, Rex Fowler. Rex is joined by his wife Dodie Pettit, Steven “Muddy” Roues, Peter Hohmeister, and Joe Meo. After “lifting” the band’s name from a poem by beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti and writing the first song for or about Jack Kerouac’s iconic novel, “On The Road,” the story of Rex and Aztec Two-Step is intertwined with the history of folk/rock music in America. Vernon, Vienna, Fayette area (and beyond) is invited to share brief stories, musings, or even odd, sweet, or funny bits of writing they've come across.  Ideas for what you might share:  stories from childhood, how you came to be here, something you wrote for school and have kept over the years, passages from personal correspondence, hopes for future adventures.  We ask that stories are family-friendly and are no longer than five minutes long. ArtsFarmington Presents: Buttonwood Trio Press Release – August 7

ArtsFarmington is pleased to present a Benefit Concert by the newly formed Buttonwood Trio playing works by Fauré and Babajanian.  Admission is by donation, with all proceeds going to Ukrainian humanitarian relief. The concert will be August 7 at 3:00 pm in the Emery Community Arts Center at the University of Maine at Farmington. This will be the debut concert for the Buttonwood Trio. It consists of three old friends and former Maine college music professors who joined together in retirement to launch this new ensemble. The players are violinist Mary Hunter, who served as music department chair at Bowdoin
