International Trade for Immigrant Entrepreneurs
Immigrant entrepreneurs in Maine bring a competitive advantage with international market knowledge, first-hand knowledge of foreign countries, and often proficiency in multiple languages. In this 2-part workshop, immigrant entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs will: Explore opportunities in exporting and importing goods, Discuss practical considerations in starting an export or import business, Review resources available to support international trade Both sessions are ideal for immigrant entrepreneurs in Maine looking to better understand the export/import processes. Thomas Auditorium in UMF's Preble Hall 173 High Street, FARMINGTON, MEWestern Maine Audubon presents: “THE STATE OF MAINE’S LAKES AND WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP” with speaker Susan Gallo on Wednesday, April 12th at UMF Western Maine Audubon is sponsoring a live presentation by Susan Gallo titled: “The State of Maine’s Lakes and What You Can Do to Help,” on April 12th from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm. The talk will be held in UMF’s Preble Hall, Thomas Auditorium, at 173 High Street in Farmington. Maine has over 2,500 Great Ponds. The vast majority of these are in great shape, due in large part to strong shoreland zoning laws
Local Legends of Fly Fishing Hall of Fame – White Nose Pete Fly Fishing Festival
Th Rangeley Inn & Tavern 2443 Main Street, Rangeley, METhe White Nose Pete Fly Fishing Festival begins Friday June 16th, with a reception at the Rangeley Inn & Tavern at 6:00 PM. There will also be a live auction of top-of-the-line fly-fishing rods. The auction proceeds will benefit The Chamber of Commerce as well as a Non-Profit committed to helping others. The Show Saturday June 17th 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM at The Rangeley Inn, will include arts, books, gear, tying & casting lessons, the chance to try gear from top manufacturers, conservation groups, raffles and much more!
