Foothills Land Conservancy Annual Meeting

Foothills Land Conservancy will hold its annual meeting from 6:30 to 8 pm on Wednesday, June 15 at Academy Hill School Cafeteria in Wilton. During the first part, we will conduct our annual business meeting. Election of officers and board members will take place.  The second part of the meeting will be a presentation by Dr. Julia Daly, Associate Professor of Geology at the University of Maine at Farmington.  Dr. Daly deployed and maintains the monitoring buoy on Wilson Lake. She will be discussing her findings.  Anyone interested in more information the meeting or Foothills in general may contact info@foothillslandconservancy.org.

Mt Blue Area Garden Club is pleased to share the gardens of Becky Grant-Widen at 847 Orchard Drive, Wilton on July 19 at 5:30. Bring your own chair, a sandwich and a plant to swap. Creative desserts are provided by club hostesses. Becky will do a tour of her vegetable and flower gardens, where she uses the “no-dig” method of gardening, as well as her efforts to address invasive and aggressive plants using goats and pigs, particularly multiflora rose and Asiatic bittersweet.
