1 min read

Molly Thorkildsen’s annual flowers in front of the Better Living Center on Front Street was given special recognition by the Downtown Business Association at this morning’s meeting. The association’s design committee wanted to honor businesses that had nice flower displays over the summer. At right is Lisa Laflin of the Design Committee.

  1. Yes, the flowers downtown are/were lovely. I’m very proud of the efforts that are making to keep our downtown maintaining that beautiful New England town ambiance. Such a refreshing look compared to modern shopping malls. Keep up the good work.

  2. The store looked great! It was a really nice addition to the appearance of downtown this summer and fall. Thanks for the effort to keep our town special.

  3. Let’s not just thank Corey now. When we do our holiday shopping we all should remember the effort that he made to make our whole downtown look so appealing.

  4. All the flowers were lovely this year but I thought Twice Sold Tales were especially pretty and also should have received an Honorable Mention.

  5. Now that’s the spiri!!!!. Lets keep that going and continue to welcome and draw new business to downtown Farmington!!!!

  6. The downtown area looked wonderful this summer; made me very proud to show off “The Old Hometown” to our summer visitors. Kudos to all everyone who participated!

  7. I was recently representing Better Living Center in receiving a flower
award from the Downtown Business Association. The Lewiston Sun failed
to mention the first two of three secrets I was asked to explain,
which contributed to our “flower power”. First we purchase the very
best locally grown greenhouse plants from Robin’s Flower Pot, secondly
we buy the finest locally produced compost from Living Acres. It was
mentioned that our large heat sunk of a parking lot inspires the
flowers to grow 24 hours daily. All local plants, all local labour and
a lot of local admiration. We thank all you flower lovers out there
    that enjoy BLC’s flower power.
